Vascular lesions The most frequent vascular lesions are facial telangiectasias (dilatation of the capillaries), venectasias (dilatation of the veins), angiomas and rosacea. These lesions can occur as a consequence of photo-aging (caused by sun exposure) and can turn into real aesthetic issues when untreated. Most often, these conditions are associated with other photo-aging effects (wrinkles, saggy skin). Venectasias can occur following a pregnancy or as a consequence of photo-aging. The main removal technique is based on selective photothermolysis, which is the ability of hemoglobin (in the dilated capillary) to absorb (laser) energy as heat, without targeting the wrong integumentary structures. This process results in the obliteration of hemoglobin in the respective capillary (through photocoagulation). Pigmented lesions At Columna Esthetic, we treat several types of pigmented lesions:
